MUARABULIAN - Pemerintah Kabupaten Batanghari melalui Dinas Perkebunan dan Peternakan kabupaten Batanghari, Kamis (14/11/2019) pukul 09.00 WIB mengadakan kegiatan pencanangan Vaksin Rabies Gratis bagi hewan peliharaan, bertempat di kantor Dinas Perkebunan Dan Peternakan kabupaten Batanghari.
Hadir Bupati Batanghari diwakili oleh Asisten I Pemerintahan dan Kesra, Verry Ardiansyah,S.Sos,M.Si, Sekretaris Dinas Perkebunan dan Peternakan Batanghari Ismail Ramzi SE, Kadis Kesehatan diwakili oleh Kabid P2P Dinkes Batanghari Dr. Zulkarnain Marbun dan undangan.
Dalam sambutan Verry mengatakan, kegiatan pemberian Vaksin Rabies Gratis bagi hewan peliharaan ini adalah program pemerintah kabupaten Batanghari sampai tahun 2025, dan ini pertama kali dilaksanakan di kabupaten Batanghari.
Program ini juga dalam rangka menyambut HUT kabupaten Batanghari Ke 71 dan harapan pemerintah Kabupaten Batang Hari agar masyarakat terbebas dari penyakit rabies,” ungkapnya.
Sementara itu Sekretaris Disbunnak, Ismail Ramzi mengatakan hal yang sama tentang tujuan diadakannya kegiatan Vaksin Rabies Gratis ini agar masyarakat terbebas dari penyakit rabies melalui pemberian vaksinasi hewan peliharaan.
Adapun penjelasan dari drh.Togu tentang kegiatan Vaksin Rabies Gratis karena rabies merupakan penyakit (virus) yang dapat menyebabkan kematian.
Untuk itu dihimbau kepada khususnya masyarakat kabupaten Batanghari jika terkena kasus rabies, langkah awal yang harus dilakukan adalah : Cucilah luka gigitan dengan air sabun sebanyak tiga kali ; Segera obati dengan Betadin atau dibawa ke rumah sakit/puskesmas atau dokter terdekat.
Segera laporkan hewan peliharaan ke dinas terkait, untuk dilakukan observasi, apakah dilakukan vaksin atau tidak sama sekali. (*)
