Jumpa pers dan LSM dihadiri Kepala Kejaksaan Negeri Merangin, Martha Parulina Berliana,  SH. MH serta Kasi Pidana Umum (Pidum), Kasi Pidana Khusus (Pidsus), Kasi Intel dan Kasi Datun.

Kepala Kejaksaan Negeri Merangin Martha Parulina Berliana, SH. MH mengatakan, tujuan digelarnya jumpa pers dan LSM untuk memenuhi janji beberapa waktu lalu. Selain itu untuk mendapatkan koreksi dan masukan dari berbagai elemen masyarakat Merangin terthadap kinerja Kejari Merangin saat ini. “Tujuannya untuk memenuhi janji beberapa waktu lalu dan kami ingin mendapat koreksi dan masukan karena wartawan dan LSM  berada dilingkungan masyarakat," katanya.

Menurut Kajari Merangin, sejumlah kegiatan di Kejaksaan Negeri  saat ini telah dilakukan, tidak hanya soal penegakan hukum termasuk, menyediakan klinik  bagi masyarakat yang membutuhkan, perpustakaan  bagi yang iningin membaca dan meminjuam buku  dan lain sebagainya.

“Kita punya klinik bagi masyarakat yang ingin berobat gratis pada hari Selasa dan Kamis dan kami mempunyai perpustakaan dan berisi buku soal hukum," ujarnya.

Setelah Kajari Merangin, giliran para kepala seksi (Kasi) di Kejaksaan Negeri Merangin membeberkan kegiatan yang kini tengah dilaksanakan. Namun cukup menarik apa yang disampaikan Kasi Pidum Kejari Bangko Muhammad Fajrin soal rusaknya alam di Merangin terkait aktifitas Penambang Emas Tanpa Izin (PETI). Soal pelaku PETI, Kasi Pidum ini telah membuktikannya dengan menuntut dalam kasus PETI dengan tuntutan yang cukup tinggi di Pengadilan Negeri Bangko.

“Sudah seharusnya kita jaga kelestarian alam dan jangan dirusak karena PETI," katanya.

Dalam tanya jawab, terungkap kasus sawit Koni menjadi pertanyaan serius dari para jurnalis maupun LSM, termasuk keterbukan pihak Kejaksan Merangin untuk memberikan informasi tentunya terkait dengan pemberitaan. Meski pihak Kejaksaan mengatakan koni bukan negara dan kasus koni bukan kerugian negara baik wartawan maupun LSM tetap mendesak Kajari Merangin untuk melakukan dan melanjutkan upaya hukum dalam kasus tersebut.
