Acara ditandai dengan pemecahan kendi berisi air kembang, persis di bemper salah satu mobil sampah yang resmi dioperasionalkan. Pada acara yang berlangsung di halaman Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (LH) Merangin itu, juga hadir Kadis LH Zulhifni.

‘’Sebanyak lima unit mobil, terdiri dari tiga damtruk, dua mobil amrol dan tiga unit kendaraan roda tiga pengangkut sampah ini, merupakan bantuan dari Pemerintah Pusat yang bersumber dari dana DAK. Terimakasih atas bantuan ini,’’ ujar Bupati.

Bupati minta armada sampah yang dititipkan ke petugas kebersihan Pemkab Merangin tersebut, digunakan dengan benar dan benar-benar dirawat serta dijaga dengan baik.

Dengan dioperasionalkannya armada baru itu, bupati berharap kepada petugas kebersihan, jangan ada lagi keluhan dari masyarakat ada sampah yang belum diangkut dan menumpuk.

‘’Kita harus jeli dan sigap dalam menyikapi sampah di daerah kita. Mobil sampah ini kapan saja harus stand by. Jika ada masyarakat yang menghubungi minta untuk mengangkut sampah, harus selalu siap,’’ kata Bupati.

Jangan sampai lanjut bupati, muncul paradigma bahwa hanya saat penilaian Adipura saja, sibuk mengurusi sampah. Jadikan pengangkuan sampah itu, sebagai tugas dan kewajiban rutin yang dilaksanakan setiap hari.

Begitu juga sambung bupati, himbauan larangan menggunakan kantong plastik yang pada akhirnya menciptakan sampah plastik, hendaknya jangan hanya menjadi slogan saja, tapi harus diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan masyarakat sehari-hari.

‘’Didapatkan bantuan mobil ini juga berkat kerja keras para bapak dan ibu petugas kebersihan yang telah melaksanakan tugasnya dengan baik, sehingga Kota Bangko selalu terlihat bersih dan indah,’’ terang Bupati.

Pada kesempatan itu, bupati juga minta petugas kebersihan dapat menjaga dengan baik Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) sampai di kawasan Langling,  yang menjadi TPA terbaik di Sumatera.

Sementara itu menurut Kadis LH Merangin Zulhifni, Merangin menjadi kabupaten pertama yang mendapatkan bantuan tersebut. Bantuan tersebut, menyusul bantuan-bantuan sebelumnya yang telah diserahkan Pemerintah Pusat.

‘’TPA sampah yang dimiliki Kabupaten Merangin sudah mendapatkan bantuan Pemerintah Pusat sebesar Rp 25 miliar, termasuk alat berat untuk TPA dan satu unit mobil penyedot tinda pada 2019 lalu,’’ tandas Zulhifni.
