MERSNGIN - Bank Indonesia (BI) Perwakilan Provinsi Jambi mulai mengembangkan klaster kopi robusta di Jangkat. Petani tidak lagi menjual kopi dalam bentuk bahan mentah, tapi sudah menjadi kopi yang siap diekspor.
Hal tersebut dikatakan Bupati Merangin, H. Al Haris, disela-sela cara penyerahan bantuan program sosial Bank Indonesia, di Desa Talang Tembago Kecamatan Jangkat Timur, Rabu (05/8).
‘’Jadi bersama BI, kita berupaya mengenalkan kopi Jangkat, Merangin ini ditingkat internasional, dengan mengekspor kopi dalam bentuk bubuk kopi. Terimakasih kepada BI,’’ ujar Bupati.
Ekspor bubuk kopi Jangkat ini jelas bupati, sudah menjadi harapan masyarakat petani kopi di Jangkat sejak dulu. Masyarakat terus memimpikan bagaimana kopi Jangkat tersebut, bisa dijual dalam bentuk jadi.
‘’Saat ini masyarakat sudah siap dengan semua itu. Masyarakat sudah mandiri dengan peralatan yang ada melakukan pengelolaan kopi dengan benar, tinggal lagi pembinaan yang lebih maksimal,’’ terang Bupati.
Masyarakat harus meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan kopi lebih bagus lagi, dengan pengelolaan khusus dan perlu pelatihan secara spesifik bagaimana pengelolaan kopi berkualitas tinggi dan bisa menembus ekspor dengan harga tinggi.
Diceritakan bupati, pada 2015 lalu Assosiasi Pemerintahan Kabupaten Selurun Indonesia (Apkasi), membuat acara di Festival Kampung Kopi di Senayan. Saat itu H Al Haris menjadi salah satu panitianya.
Usai festival itu, bupati sempat ngobrol dengan duta besar luar negeri, ternyata kopi robusta banyak digemari negera dari Timur Tengah. Ada pengusaha dari Aljazair minta kontrak untuk robusta Jangkat.
‘’Ketika itu saya belum berani, karena kita belum punya Indeks Geografi (IG) kopi kita. Pada 2017 kita baru mengurus IG, bekerjasama dengan para pecinta kopi dan Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) yang ada di Merangin,’’ jelas Bupati.
Pada 2018 sambung bupati, baru bisa ke Kemenkumham. ‘’Sekarang ini kita sedang menunggi IG kita keluar. Jika sudah keluar, maka produk kopi kita lebih terjamin lagi dan memiliki khas tersendiri Kopi Robusta Jangkat,’’ jelas Bupati.
Bupati akan membantu koperasi yang ada di Merangin untuk bisa mengekspor kopi. Untuk Gudang Kopi akan disediakan bupati. Gudang kopi ini merupakan hadiah bupati kepada para kelompok tani kopi yang sudah menjadi juara nasional.
‘’Sesuai dengan  janji saya waktu dulu. jika sumber daya manusia kita sudah dilatih, bisa lebih meningkatkan kualitas  pengelolaan kopi yang dihasilkan. Kalau IG kita sudah keluar, kopi kita sudah siap go ekspor,’’ harap Bupati.
Kepala Bank Indonesia (BI) Perwakilan Provinsi Jambi Bayu Martanto, sangat mengapresiasi kopi robusta Jangkat Merangin, bisa menjadi juara pertama sebanyak dua kali dalam lomba kopi tingkat  nasional.
‘’BI di daerah diminta BI Pusat untuk pengembangan salah satu produk unggulan. Salah satu produk unggulan itu, kopi untuk meningkatkan perekonomian daerah,’’ terang Bayu Martanto.
Sementara itu, Ketua Koperasi Cahaya Puncak Merangin (CPM) Pengelola Kopi Robusta Jangkat Gusdi Warman mengatakan,  kopi Robusta Jangkat selalu menjadi juara pada lomba kopi tingkat nasional.
‘’Pada 2018 nilai kopi kita tertinggi, sehingga menjadi juara 1 pertama di Scai  Bali, pada 2019 di Bandung Kopi Robusta Jangkat mendapatkan juara pertama lagi pada lomba Microlot Scai,’’ ujar Gusdi Warman.
Sedangkan pada 2018 Merangin mengikuti fine robusta pengolahan full wash. Pada 2019  Merangin ikut fine robusta pengolahan honey. ‘’Alhamdulillah sudah ke-22 kalinya mendapat juara pertama,’’ jelas Gusdi Warman.
Pada acara tersebut, BI menyerahkan program bantuan sosial berupa sarana dan prasarana pengembangan klaster kopi kepada Koperasi Cahaya Puncak Merangin di Desa Talang Tembago.
Bantuan itu berupa, rumah jemur kopi (dome), mesin pengupas kopi ( pulper), mesin penepung kopi (grinder) dan mesin generator (genset). ‘’Terimakasih kepada BI yang menjadi mitra binaan Desa Talang Tembago,’’ tandas Bupati.
