Dikatakan wabup, kabupaten sehat adalah suatu kondisi kabupaten yang bersih, nyaman, aman dan sehat untuk dihuni penduduk. KKS dicapai melalui terselenggaranya penerapan tatanan terintegrasi dan disepakati masyarakat dan Pemerintah Daerah.
‘’Tujuan penyelenggaraan KKS ini, untuk mencapai kondisi kabupaten yang bersih, nyaman, aman dan sehat untuk dihuni, sebagai tempat bekerja dan berkarya bagi warganya,’’ ujar Wabup
 Pada acara dihadiri Ketua Pembina KKS Provinsi Jambi Soroso.
KKS itu lanjut wabup, wajib terlaksananya berbagai program pembangunan berwawasan kesehatan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan sarana, produktivitas dan perekonomian masyarakat.
Untuk menuju KKS itu terang wabup, Kabupaten Merangin harus bersih-bersih,  kawasan pemukiman, sarana dan prasarana yang sehat, termasuk aspek sanitasi, kehidupan masyarakat yang sehat dan mandiri.
‘’Kondisi pasar kita juga harus selalu bersih, begitu juga dengan kawasan pendidikan,  kehidupan sosial yang sehat dan kesiapsiagaan bencana, disabilitas dan lansia,’’ pinta Wabup pada acara yang juga dihadiri Ketua Forum KKS Merangin, Herick Apriyanto.
Tidak hanya itu, tegas wabup, tatanan lainnya juga perlu dibenahi, seperti kawasan transportasi massal dan tertib berlalulintas jalan raya, terminal dan sejumlah sarana umum lainnya.
Terpenting pinta wabup, penerapan kawasan tanpa asap rokok diperluas lagi, deteksi dini penyakit, kawasan kantin dan tempat kebugaran yang bersih, kawasan perkantoran dan perindustrian juga bersih.
‘’Kita banyak mempunyai kawasan pariwisata dan kawasan tempat ibadah yang kebersihannya perlu terus diperhatikan. Kita juga harus maksimal menerapkan Smart City dan  e-government,’’ tandas Wabup.
