Pada acara yang digelar secara virtual di aula Mapolres Merangin, Kamis (14/1) itu, bupati menegaskan FGD menghasilkan solusi-solusi dalam penanganan keberadaan PETI di Bumi Tali Undang Tambang Teliti.
‘’Saya setuju betul dilakukannya FGD ini, apa lagi tema yang diusung sangat tepat, dimana PETI menjadi masalah kita bersama. Salah satu solusinya, kita akan memanggil para pemilik alat berat,’’ ujar Bupati.
Para pemilik alat berat itu, akan diberi pemahaman agar tidak menyewakan alat berat untuk aktivitas PETI. Fakta Integritas setiap acara pelantikan kepala desa juga sudah dilakukan. Begitu juga Lembaga adat desa, telah memberikan sanksi adat.
‘’Bila seorang Kades melanggar Fakta Integritas ini, para periode berikutnya tidak bisa lagi mencalonkan diri. Kita juga pernah memblokade Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) untuk PETI, tapi BBM kemudian dibeli dari Linggau dan Damasraya,’’ terang Bupati.
Apalagi kondisi sekarang ini, dimana setiap desa mempunyai Pertashop (SPBU mini) dan banyak minyak olahan yang dijual bebas, sehingga cara ini dianggap kurang ampuh untuk pemberantasan PETI.
Pada FGD tersebut, juga tersirat terkait legalitas penambangan rakyat, tapi izin tersebut masih harus ke tingkat Pemerintah Pusat. Namun demikian lokasi penambangan itu berada di daerah.
Kapolres Merangin AKBP Irwan Andy Purnamawan menambahkan, pada 2020 lalu ada sebanyak sembilan kasus PETI yang ditangani, delapan kasus sudah inkrah dan satu kasus masih jalan. ‘’Pada 2021 ini ada satu kasus PETI, terkait penggunaan alat berat untuk aktivitas PETI dan satu truk pengangkut alat berat dari hasil Patroli rutin. Kami kembangkan terus kasus ini sehingga telah ditetapkan tiga orang sebagai tersangka,’’ ujar Kapolres.
Ketiga orang tersebut jelas Kapolres, merupakan pemilik alat berat yang digunakan  untuk aktivitas PETI, sekaligus sebagai pemodal dari aktivitas PETI yang dilakukan di perairan sungai tersebut.
Pada FGD itu juga dilakukan, ‘Komitmen Bersama’ tentang larangan melakukan penambangan emas secara illegal dalam wilayah Kabupaten Merangin. ‘Komitmen Bersama’ tersebut ditandatangani unsur Forkopimda.
Mereka yang menandatangani ‘Komitmen Bersama’ itu, Bupati Merangin H Al Haris, Ketua DPRD Merangin Herman Effendi, Kapolres Merangin AKBP Irwan Andy Purnamawan, Dandim 0420 Sarko Letkol Inf Tomi Radya Diansyah Lubis, Kejari Merangin Martha Parulina Berliana dan Ketua Pengadilan Negeri Bangko Salam Alfarisi.
Sementara itu, FGD yang dipandu moderator Mochammad Farisi secara virtual itu, menghadirkan lima orang narasumber, Kapolda Jambi Irjen Pol A Rochmad Wibowo, SIK
Guru Besar Fakultas Hukum UNJA Prof Dr Alita Rahmi,SH.H.Hum.
Selain itu, Kepala Dinas ESDM Provinsi Jambi Harry Andria, Direktur Eksekutif Walhi Jambi  Rudiansyah dan Ketua Asosiasi Pemerintahan Desa Seluruh Indonesia (APDESI) Kabupaten Merangin Abu Bakar Acang.
