MERANGIN - Bertempat di SMP Negeri 3 Merangin Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Dikbud) Merangin H.M.Zubir secara resmi membuka kegiatan Musyawarah Kerja Kepala Sekolah (MKKS) wilayah Kecamatan Bangko dan Kegiatan Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) mandiri untuk 4 mata pelajaran. Seperti, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Bahasa Indonesia, dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). Dalam sambutannya Zubir mengatakan, dunia pendidikan memang masih dihadapkan dengan kualitas mutu pendidikan. Oleh karenanya, melalui kegiatan MGMP Mandiri tersebut diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru saat mengajar disekolah. "Ikuti kegiatan ini dengan sebaik baiknya, dan kepala sekolah harus mendorong guru gurunya untuk mengikuti MGMP, sehingga SDM dan Kompetensi guru bisa terangkat"katanya. Menurut Zubir jika kompentensi guru bagus juga berdampak pada kualitas dan hasil anak didik disekolah. "Jelas kalau kompetensi gurunya bagus tentu akan melahirkan siswa berkualitas, yang unggul, yang handal dan bermutu,"jelasnya. Ia menerangkan, dunia pendidikan memang masih dihadapkan dengan kualitas mutu pendidikan. Walaupun sudah bertahun tahun dalam bertugas, namun tanggung jawab sebagai guru tetap ada. Terlebih lanjut dia, mengikuti perkembangan zaman, dan guru harus menyesuaikan tuntutan perkembangan tersebut. "Mau tidak mau, suka tidak suka, guru harus mengikuti perkembangan zaman didunia pendidikan,"ujarnya. Sementara itu, IPM Merangin se propinsi Jambi berada diurutan keenam. Artinya IPM kita masih rendah. Banyak anak putus sekolah terutama yang usianya 15 tahun keatas atau setara SMA. "Banyak faktor anak anak putus sekolah, satu diantaranya faktor ekonomi,"ungkapnya. Berkaitan dengan hal itu, bagaimana upaya bersama untuk mengangkat SDM para guru disekolah salah satunya dengan mengikuti MGMP. "Disini guru saling berbagi, saling bertukar informasi, bertukar pikiran dan ilmu pengetahuan, sesuai dengan metode pembelajaran permata pelajaran. Maka MGMP wajib diikuti harus dilakukan dilingkup pendidik dan kependidikan,"terangnya. "Apabila tugas pembelajaran, administrasi dilaksanakan dengan baik maka secara bersamaan menghasilkam SDM yang berkualitas dan bermutu,"tambahnya. "maka kita harus siapkan ini dalam menghadapi persoalan pembelajaran, karena ditangan kita negara memberikan tanggung jawab kepada kita,"sambungnya. Selain itu bagi para peserta MGMP nantinya juga akan diberi sertifikat oleh penyelenggara. "Ya, peserta diberi sertifikat,"ucapnya. Ia menyebutkan, menjadi guru adalah tugas yang sangat mulia dan menjadi suatu kebanggaan apabila anak didik berhasil menempuh pendidikan. "Kalau anak didik berhasil itu menjadi kebanggaan buat kita, guru harus kreative dan inovative,"tandasnya.
