MERANGIN - Begitu mendapat kabar ada rumah warganya yang terbakar di Desa Bukit Perentak Kecamatan Pangkalan Jambu, Bupati Merangin H Mashuri langsung turun ke Tempat Kejadian Perkara (TKP), Sabtu (25/9/21).
Bupati yang tiba di lokasi dalam kondisi puing-puing rumah yang terbakar masih mengepul mengeluarkan asap, terlihat sangat berduka atas musibah kebakaran  yang berturut-turut terjadi di wilayah kerjanya.
‘’Disisi lain kita ini sekarang sedang musim hujan, tapi mengapa kebakaran beruntun terjadi. Tolong warga, berhati-hatilah dengan api, karena bisa mengakibatkan malapetaka seperti ini,’’ ujar Bupati.
Pada kesempata itu, bupati menyerahkan bantuan berupa Sembako, peralatan masak, peralatan tidur, peralatan mandi, perlengkapan sekolah anak dan sejumlah bantuan lainnya kepada keluarga korban yang belakangan diketahui bernama Nimawalis.
‘’Saya atas nama pribadi dan Pemeritah Kabupaten Merangin ikut prihatin atas terjadinya musibah yang mengakibatkan rumah Ibu Nimawalis ini terbakar. Lihat tidak ada harta benda yang bisa diselamatkan dari musibah ini,’’terang Bupati.
Bupati minta Nimawalis tetap sabar menerima musibah tersebut dan tetap tawakal kepada Allah SWT.  Mudah-mudahan lanjut bupati, Allah akan menggantikan lebih baik lagi dari apa yang sudah terbakar.
Untuk diketahui, rumah Nimawalis di Desa Bukit Perentak Kecamatan Pangkalan Jambu, terbakar pada Sabtu dinihari (25/9/21) sekitar pukul 02.14 WIB. Api yang tiba-tiba membesar dan ‘menjilat-jilat’ langit, sempat membuat geger warga setempat.
Tidak ada korban jiwa pada musibah kebakaran tersebut, namun semua harga benda milik korban tidak tersisa, sehingga kerugian akibat kebakaran yang diduga dari konsleting listrik ini, mencapai ratusan juta rupiah.
