JAMBI - Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi, Edi Purwanto memberikan tanggapan terkait dengan persoalan pemblokiran jalan lintas Merangin menuju Kerinci oleh masyarakat setempat akibat adanya warga yang diamankan oleh pihak kepolisian atas tindakan mendulang emas di galian tambang ilegal.
Edi Purwanto menyebut bahwa pihak kepolisian dan pemerintah tentu bisa menyelesaikan persoalan tersebut. Edi Purwanto juga mendormong untuk dilakukan komunikasi yang baik kepada masyarakat, sehingga tidak ada gejolak berkepanjangan.
"Tentu kita menghargai proses yang dilakukan oleh polres, harapan kami harus menumbuhkan kesadaran kolektif seluruh masyarakat disana, satu sisi harus ada proses komunikasi yang baik untuk memberikan kesadaran, satu sisi ya hukum harus di tegakkan juga," sebutnya.
Sementara itu, persoalan PETI disebutkan oleh Edi Purwanto menjadi persoalan yang sangat serius. Aktivitas PETI ini memberikan dampak pada kerusakan alam, sehingga memang harus ada langkah-langkah agar dampak ini tidak berkepanjangan.
"Masalah Peti adalah masalah serius, karena ini berdampak pada kerusakan alam. Maka harus ada kesadaran bersama soal dampak dari aktivitas Peti yang dilakukan ini, sama-sama kita menjaga alam," sebutnya.
Disisi lain, terkait dengan persoalan tambang ilegal, Edi Purwanto menyebut bahwa adanya pembentukan wilayah pertambangan rakyat (WPR) dan hal tersebut harus menjadi prioritas di pemerintah daerah bagaimana WPR ini bisa terlaksana.
"Dari dulu isu kita kan WPR, kenapa itu tidak menjadi prioritas bupati-bupati soal WPR itu. Kalau WPR itu sudah terbangun, saya pikir tidak ada konflik-konflik lagi," pungkasnya.
