JAMBI - Wakil Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi, Pinto Jayanegara, mendorong para petani di wilayahnya untuk beralih menggunakan pupuk organik dan hayati. Menurutnya, hal ini penting dilakukan untuk menjaga kesuburan tanah dalam jangka panjang dan menghasilkan panen yang lebih berkualitas.
"Kita harus mulai beralih dari pupuk kimia ke pupuk organik dan hayati," ujar Pinto. "Pupuk kimia memang dapat meningkatkan hasil panen dalam waktu singkat, namun efek jangka panjangnya dapat merusak tanah dan mencemari lingkungan."
Pinto menjelaskan bahwa pupuk organik dan hayati terbuat dari bahan-bahan alami seperti kompos, kotoran ternak, dan mikroorganisme yang bermanfaat bagi tanah. Pupuk ini tidak hanya membantu meningkatkan kesuburan tanah, tetapi juga dapat meningkatkan kualitas hasil panen dan menjaga kesehatan lingkungan.
"Penggunaan pupuk organik dan hayati juga dapat membantu petani untuk menghemat biaya," tambah Pinto. "Petani juga dapat membuatnya sendiri dengan bahan-bahan yang mudah didapatkan di sekitar mereka."
Pinto berharap pemerintah daerah dapat memberikan dukungan kepada para petani yang ingin beralih menggunakan pupuk organik dan hayati. Dukungan tersebut dapat berupa pelatihan, penyediaan sarana dan prasarana, serta bantuan permodalan.
"Saya yakin dengan kerjasama antara petani, pemerintah, dan pihak swasta, kita dapat mewujudkan Jambi sebagai provinsi yang maju dan berkelanjutan," pungkas Pinto.
