Tampak hadir dalam acara yang dihadiri Bupati Merangin tersebut, Wakil Bupati Merangin Mashuri, Ketua DPRD Merangin Efendi, Dandim 0420/Sarko Letkol Inf Tomi Diansyah Lubis, Kapolres Merangin AKBP M. Lutfi, Kajari Merangin dan Kemenag Merangin Marwan Hasan.

Dalam kata sambutannya, Wakil Ketaua MUI Propinsi Jambi Prof. DR. H.AmirAmri, SE.MS mengatakan berharap MUI yang berdiri sejak tahun 1975, kedepan dibawah kepengurusan yang baru dapat lebih baik mengayomi umat di Merangin.

“Dan saya yakin MUI di Merangin dibawah kepemimpinan Dr. Joni akan lebih baik kedepannya. Dan dapat bekerjasama dengan pemerintah dalam menjalankan misi MUI untuk mensejahterakan umat," ujarnya.

Sementara Bupati Merangin, Al Haris dalam sambutannya mengucapkan terimakasih kepada pengurus MUI Merangin sebelumnya dan berharap MUI yang dilantik dapat membawa perubahan.

“Ucapan terimakasih kami kepada orang tua kami KH Satar Saleh yang telah menjadi ketua MUI sebelumnya. Kedepan kami berharapa bagaimana MUI Merangin memberikan jalan terbaik bagi umat Islam di Merangin," kata bupati.
