BATANGHARINEWS.COM - Siapa yang tak kenal sosok tokoh pers satu ini. Ya Alwi Hamu, pria kelahiran Parepare, 28 Juli 1944, kini genap berusia 76 tahun.
Alwi Hamu dikenal sosok jujur dan pandai berkomunikasi, sehingga membawanya mudah diterima dimanapun. Sejak remaja Alwi sudah terlibat aktif dimedia, di bangku SMP Alwi sudah menerbitkan majalah stensilan, begitupun di saat dimasa SMA.
Ketika menjadi mahasiswa, Alwi juga mendirikan Surat Kabar Umum KAMI di tahun 1966, dan beberapa media yang dibidani oleh Alwi.
Satu Oktober 1981, Alwi mendirikan Fajar yang telah menjadi media besar di tanah air. Diusia 76 tahun ini Alwi pun masih aktif di dunia pers, dengan menahkodai organisasi Serikat Perusahaan Pers (SPS).
Dikatakan Firdaus, Ketua Serikat Media Siber Indonesia (SMSI) sosok Alwi Hamu salah seorang panutan di dunia pers. “Pak Alwi itu salah satu tokoh pers yang jadi panutan. Kami banyak belajar dari beliau, bagaimana membangun media dan membangun jejaring di berbagai kalangan dengan tetap menjujung integritas. Selamat ulang tahun pak Alwi, doa kami semoga tetap sehat, panjang umur dan bahagia bersama keluarga,” ucap Firdaus. ***
