JAKARTA - Sebanyak 10.654 site atau 71 persen dari 15.000 site yang terganggu karena anomali satelit Telkom 1 sudah berfungsi kembali. Direktur Utama Telkom Alex J Sinaga menjelaskan, dari 10.654 site tersebut, sebanyak 7.658 site merupakan ATM.
‘‘Dengan begitu, masih tersisa 4.521 site lagi yang belum normal. Sebanyak 3.919 site ATM dan sisanya non-ATM,’‘ kata Alex pada konferensi pers di kantor Telkom kemarin (5/9).
Alex menjelaskan, dari 10.654 site yang sudah normal tidak seluruhnya dilakukan dengan repointing. Sebanyak perbaikan 1.013 site migrasi ke fiber optik dan machine to machine (M2M). Menurut Alex, itu merupakan solusi sementara untuk mempercepat proses recovery.
‘‘Nantinya akan kembali kami repointing. Namun, kami juga memberi tawaran kepada pelanggan untuk kembali ke satelit atau membuat solisi temporary itu jadi fix,’‘ ungkap dia.
Dengan stabilnya progres realisasi recovery yang berkecepatan mencapai 1.200 site per hari, Telkom berharap dapat menyelesaikan pemulihan 15.000 site layanan pelanggan hingga maksimal 10 September 2017. ‘‘Kami yakin bisa menyelesaikan ini paling lama 10 September,’‘ ucap Alex.
Saat ini, Telkom juga sedang mengupayakan percepatan peluncuran satelit Telkom 4 yang akan menggantikan satelit Telkom 1. Alex menjelaskan, meskipun, sesuai dengan kontraknua, satelit tersebut baru akan diluncurkan pada Agustus tahun depan, dia akan memastikan kemungkinan dilakukannya percepatan.
‘‘Jadwalnya memang Agustus 2018. Kami berencana untuk bertemu dengan pabrikan dan peluncurnya untuk mihat apakah bisa dipercepat,’‘ jelas Alex.
Di sisi lain, Menkominfo Rudiantara juga akan memastikan slot kosong yang ditinggalkan satelit Telkom 1 tetap aman dan tidak digunakan satelit lain agar bisa dipakai satelit Telkom 4 tahun depan. Rudiantara mengatakan, pihaknya sudah mengirim surat notifikasi kepada International Telecommunication Union (ITU) terkait tidak lagi beroperasinya satelit Telkom 1.
‘‘Slot ini kan seperti parkiran. Kita berusaha saat mobilnya tidak ada, tidak ada juga mobil lain yang parkir di situ. Pemerintah fokus amankan slot itu dengan berkomunikasi dengan ITU,’‘ terang Rudiantara.
