TANJAB BARAT - Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Dr Ir. H. Safrial MS menghimbau kepada masyarakat untuk senantiasa membudayakan pola hidup sehat.
Hal itu disampaikan Safrial dalam sambutannya saat menghadiri kegiatan Deklarasi Anti Buang Air Besar (BAB) sembarangan atau Open Defecation Free (ODF) di desa Suka Damai, kecamatan Tebing Tinggi, Kamis (09/01).
Bupati meminta program stop BAB sembarangan ini tidak hanya sekedar deklarasi semata. Tapi yang lebih penting adalah membudayakan kesadaran pentingnya pola hidup sehat dan menjaga kebersihan lingkungan.
“Saya berharap agar desa-desa lain bisa mengikuti desa ODF ini. Jadilah masyarakat yang malu buang air besar ditempat terbuka atau sungai,” jelas Safrial.
Semoga dengan deklarasi Stop BAB Sembarangan ini, lebih maju dan sehat. Satu lagi, untuk mewujudkan masyarakat yang sehat tidak bisa dilakukan satu pihak saja, namun harus bersama-sama melibatkan lintas sektor
“Kembali ke permasalahan ODF, selain penyediaan infrastruktur, misalnya MCK, jamban sehat dan lainnya, yang lebih penting lagi adalah kesadaran dari masyarakat itu sendiri untuk berprilaku hidup sehat. Jangan sampai karena pola hidup yang tidak sehat dan lingkungan yang kotor akan membawa sumber penyakit,” pesannya.
Sementara itu Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat dr. Hj. Andi Pada M.Kes. menyampaikan Sanitasi Total Berbasis Masyarakat (STBM) merupakan program yg memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat betapa pentingnya berprilaku hidup bersih dan sehat.
"Ke depannya, harapan kita semua desa dan kelurahan se Kabupaten Tanjab Barat ini bebas buang air besar sembarangan dan semuanya sudah memiliki jamban sehat dan MCK," singkatnya.
Diakhir kegiatan, Bupati Safrial menyerahkan piagam penghargaan kepada 5 Orang kepala desa antaranya. Desa Suka Damai, Desa Adi Jaya, Desa Sungai Keruh, Desa Badang Sepakat dan Desa Pematang Tembesu dinyatakan sebagai Desa Open Defecation Free.
