MERANGIN - Kebakaran hebat terjadi di Kecamatan Pamenang. Akibatnya SMA Pamenang atau SMA 8 Merangin ruangan Kepala Sekolah, Wakil Kepala Sekolah dan majelis guru ludes di lalap si jago merah.

Dari informasi di lapangan, kejadian kebakaran terjadi pada Jum’at (7/2) sekitar pukul 00.45 WIB. Saksi mata melihat api berasal dari ruang kepala sekolah. Melihat api sudah semakin membesar, kemudian saksi memberitahukan kepada warga lainya untuk mencoba memadamkan api dengan cara seadanya, namun api terus membesar.

Tak lama dari kejadian, satu unit mobil pemadam kebakaran dan satu unit mobil AWC Bromob den B Pelpor tiba di lokasi untuk memadamkan api. Api baru dapat padamkan setelah satu jam membakar bangunan SMA 8 Merangin.

Akibat kejadian tersebut, seluruh isi  bangunan tersebut ludes terbakar, meski demikian tidak ada korban jiwa dalam kejadian tersebut.

Kapolsek Pamenang, Iptu Fathurrohman membenarkan jika bangunan SMA 8 Merangin terbakar.

“Dugaan sementara kebakaran akibat konsleting listrik yang berada di ruang kepala sekolah, namun kita masih melakukan penyelidikan,” katanya.
