Dalam pers realisnya hari Jumat (28/2/2020) Kapolres Merangin AKBP M. Lutfi mengatakan, Sat Reskrim Polres Merangin mendapatkan informasi dari masyarakat bahwa di lingkugan Talang Kawo Rt 29 Kelurahan Dusun Bangko kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Merangin terdapat kegiatan penimbunan dan pengoplosan bahan bakar minyak. Selanjutnya personil Sat Reskrim Polres Merangin mendatangin lokasi yang di maksud. Penangkapan dilakukan pada hari Selasa tanggal (25/2/2020), sekitar  pukul 14.00 WIB. Saat tiba Tempat Kejadian Perkara (TKP) ditemukan 30 (Tiga puluh) drum berisi bensin atau premium, 4 (empat) drum minyak tanah, 3 (tiga) drum minyak solar, 27 (dua puluh tujuh) galon minyak tanah, semuanya diduga oplosan.

Selain itu di TKP Polisi menemukan Barang Bukti (BB)  6 (enam) kaleng diduga pewarna minyak Merk Coloursea, 2 (dua) unit mesin air merk Sanyo, dan satu unit mesin Merk Robin. Polsi juga berhasil mengamankan IR warga Lingkungan Talang Kawo, Kelurahan Dusun Bangko diduga sebagai pemilik minyak tersebut.

Berdasar pengakuan IR didepan penyidik Polres Merangin, bahwa minyak tersebut dibeli dari penambang minyak tradisional atau minyak sulingan di wilayah Sumatera Selatan.

 “Kemudian oleh Ir minyak tersebut dioplos atau dicampur dengan minyak bensin atau solar," ungkap Kapolres Merangin.

Kapolres Merangin AKBP M. Lutfi dalam pers realisnya mengatakan, pelaku pengoplosan terancam kurungan 6 tahun penjara. Sementara jumlah BBM keseluruhan yang berhasil disita Polisi sebanyak 9 ton dan jika di nominalkan sekitar Rp 45 juta.

“Pelaku pengoplosan BBM beserta pemiliknya telah kita amankan guna penyelidikan lebih lanjut apakah ada keterlibatan anggota didalamnya atau tidak, sejauh ini belum diketahui," tandas Kapolres Merangin M. Lutfi
