MERANGIN - Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Kelas IIB Bangko Kantor Wilayah Kemenkumham Jambi memberi remisi khusus Hari Raya Idul Fitri tahun 2020 kepada 240 narapidana beragama Islam, Minggu (24/5/2020).
Kepala Lapas Bangko Bejo,Amd.IP, SH, MH mengatakan, pemberian remisi ini merupakan hak bagi para narapidana beragama Islam yang telah memenuhi syarat yang berlaku.
“Ada 240 narapidana yang mendapatkan remisi Idul Fitri tahun 2020. Dan setelah mendapat remisi Hari Raya Idul Fitri ini, ada 12 orang narapidana Lapas Bangko memenuhi syarat untuk asimilasi di rumah,” kata Bejo.
Remisi adalah hak narapidana dan anak yang sedang menjalani pidana, apabila telah dipenuhi persyaratannya sudah dapat dipastikan narapidana dan anak yang memeluk agama Islam akan mendapatkan remisi khusus Hari Raya Idul Fitri tahun 2020 dengan besaran remisi 15 hari sampai dengan 2 bulan.
Pemberian remisi Lebaran ini, lanjut Bejo, diharapkan memotivasi narapidana yang telah dianggap baik dalam perilaku kesehariannya.
Selain itu, remisi ini diharapkan bisa mendorong optimisme narapidana agar menjalani sisa masa pidananya dengan sungguh-sungguh sembari menyadari kesalahannya.
Lapas Bangko juga berharap para narapidana yang mendapatkan remisi ini tidak mengulangi lagi perbuatan melanggar hukum setelah bebas nanti. Sehingga, mereka bisa kembali ke masyarakat menjadi manusia bermanfaat bagi diri sendiri, keluarga dan lingkungan sekitarnya.
“Kami berharap agar benar-benar menjalani asimilasi di rumah dan tidak melakukan perbuatan yang melanggar hukum. Karena, apabila narapidana tersebut tidak benar-benar menjalani asimilasi di rumah, maka pihak Lapas dengan bantuan pihak kepolisian akan memberikan sanksi dengan menjalani pidananya di Lapas dan akan ditempatkan di ruang strap sel,” ujarnya.
Selain itu pada lebaran kali ini dimasa pandemik covid-19 Lapas Bangko tidak menerima kunjungan akan tetapi diganti dengan kunjungan online via video call ke keluarga WBP.
Upacara pemberian remisi Hari Raya Idul Fitri dilaksanakan di Aula Lapas Bangko setelah pelaksanaan sholat Ied yang dipimpin Kasi Binadik & Giatja Suharman dan didampingi Kasubsi Registrasi Hidayat,S.Sy.
