MUARABULIAN – Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Batanghari berupaya memastikan agar masyarakat kabupaten Batanghari dapat menyalurkan hak pilihnya, pada Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) serentak 9 Desember 2020. Salah satunya dengan melakukan uji publik terhadap Daftar Pemilih Sementara (DPS).
Ketua KPU Batanghari, Abdul Kadir menjelaskan, uji publik terhadap Daftar Pemilih Sementara (DPS) adalah upaya keterbukaan KPU Batanghari dalam melakukan validasi atau penyempurnaan terhadap jumlah DPS yang sebelumnya telah ditetapkan sebanyak 195.320 pemilih.
Kadir juga mengatakan, uji publik yang dilaksanakan merupakan lanjutan dari uji publik yang telah dilaksanakan di 124 desa dan kelurahan se-kabupaten Batanghari, pada 25 hingga 27 September 2020.
“Uji publik ini merupakan wujud keterbukaan KPU Batanghari terhadap pemilih. Uji publik ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk memberikan ruang yang sebesar-besarnya bagi seluruh warga masyarakat untuk bisa mengoreksi DPS yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya sebanyak 195.320,” ujar Kadir pada Senin (28/9/2020).
Diakui Kadir, dalam acara uji publik ini juga dihadiri oleh intansi terkait dan tim penghubung paslon. Tim penghubung diundang untuk memberikan pendapat dan masukan. Oleh karena itu Kadir berharap dengan dilaksanakannya uji publik DPS ini, dapat membangun kepercayaan terhadap data pemilih yang disajikan KPU Batanghari.
"Kami berharap dengan dilaksanakannya uji publik DPS ini akan semakin membangun kepercayaan terhadap data pemilih yang disajikan oleh KPU Batanghari dalam Pemilihan Serentak 2020 ini, serta akan membuat Daftar Pemilih Tetap (DPT) semakin valid dan berkualitas,” harap Kadir.
