MUARABULIAN - Seorang sopir truk tewas akibat tabrakan beruntun yang terjadi di jalan lintas Jambi-Muara Bulian, Minggu (20/12/2020).
Kaka maut itu tepatnya di Desa Sungai Buluh, Kecamatan Muarabulian, Kabupaten Batanghari. Kasat Lantas Polres Batanghari, AKP Nafrizal, menuturkan, selepas jalan tikungan ke kiri kendaraan light truck BH 8220 WU diduga melaju dengan kecepatan tinggi dan lepas kendali, sehingga berjalan di lajur jalan sebelah kanan dan menabrak dua kendaraan yang sedang berjalan di lajurnya. Kecelakaan tersebut melibatkan tiga kendaraan sekaligus, yakni light truck BH 8220 WU, Minibus Toyota Avanza BH 1995 LK dan Light Truck Hino BH 8679 BU. Akibat kecelakaan tersebut satu orang meninggal dunia di lokasi kejadian," katanya.
Kata dia, korban yang meninggal dunia tersebut merupakan pengemudi truk BH 8220 WU yang bernama Sofian warga Desa Tanjung Marwo, Kabupaten Batanghari. Sementara dua pengemudi kendaraan lainnya yang ditabrak serta penumpang mengalami luka-luka. "Dalam peristiwa ini, korbannya ada empat, satu meninggal dan tiga orang mengalami luka berat, termasuk dengan penumpang kendaraan light truck BH 8220 WU, sedangkan untuk kerugian material ditafsirkan mencapai Rp15 juta," sebut AKP Nafrizal.
