Hal tersebut disampaikan Bupati Merangin H Mashuri, ketika membuk acara Mapaba (Masa penerimaan anggota baru) PMII Komisariat STAI SMQ Bangko 2021, di Ruang Pola Utama Kantor Bupati Merangin, Jumat (17/9/21).
‘’Adik-adik PMII ini merupakan generasi penerus bangsa, sebagai pengganti kami yang sudah tua-tua ini. Saya yakin sepenuhnya diantara adik-adik para kader PMII ini nantiknya, akan berperan menjadi pemimpin Merangin,’’ ujar Bupati.
Diakui bupati, untuk membangun Kabupaten Merangin yang wilayahnya terluas dibandingkan kabupaten/kota lain di Provinsi Jambi tidak mudah, apalagi dengan dana yang sangat minim sekali.
‘’Luas Kabupaten Merangin itu mencapai 7.700 kilometer persegi, sangat tidak sebanding dengan dana yang kita miliki untuk membangunnya. Pembangunan hanya bisa dilakukan secara bertahap tapi merata,’’ terang H Mashuri.
Pemerintah lanjut bupati, tentu sangat mengorong bagi semua kebedaan organisasi-organisasi kemasyakatan dan organisasi kemahasiswaan di Merangin. Melalui PMII akan tercipta generasi handal, cerdas, ilmiah, nasional dan bertanggungjawab terhadap agama dan negara.
‘’Saya mengucapkan selamat kepada para pengurus PMII Merangin yang baru terpilih beberapa hari lalu, semoga diberikan kekuatan dan kesuksesan dalam mengurus organsisasi dan berperan dalam membangun Merangin,’’ harap Bupati.
Tampak hadir pada acara yang berlangsung penuh rasa kekeluargaan itu, Kepala Kantor Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Merangin H Marwan Hasan, Ketua  Komisariat STAI SMQ Bangko Agustian Mahendra dan Sekretaris Mabincab STAI SMQ Bangko Marliyos.
