MUARABULIAN - Ratusan anak sekolah dasar (SD) melakukan aksi sikat gigi bersama di lapangan SD 13/1 Muara bulian, Kabupaten Batanghari, Senin (12/9/2022).
Kegiatan sikat gigi serentak ini dalam rangka memperingati Hari Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Nasional (HKGN) tahun 2022.
"Kesehatan gigi harus dipelihara dengan baik sejak dini dan dapat berpengaruh terhadap perilaku dan perkembangan dikemudian hari," kata Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Batanghari, Dr. Elfi Yennie di Muarabulian, Senin (12/9).
Peringatan Hari Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Nasional Tahun 2022, Kegiatan tersebut dengan tema pulih bersama dengan senyum sehat indonesia.
"Kegiatan ini sangat relevan dengan upaya pemenuhan kebutuhan masyarakat atas pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang berkualitas berupa pemeriksaan, pengobatan dengan menitikberatkan pada upaya promotif dan preventif," ujarnya.
Khusus pada anak sekolah masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan masalah yang penting karena tidak hanya menyebabkan keluhan rasa sakit, tetapi juga menyebabkan infeksi ke bagian tubuh lain sehingga mengakibatkan menurunnya kesehatan secara umum.
"Gigi dan mulut adalah salah satu faktor yang tidak hanya berpengaruh pada rongga mulut serta fungsi pengunyahan, namun dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup secara langsung," katanya.
Sementara itu, Dr. Elfi menyampaikan penghargaan serta apresiasi kepada Persatuan Dokter Gigi Indonesia dan Persatuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut Indonesia bersama Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Batanghari serta seluruh tenaga kesehatan yang melaksanakan kegiatan pada rangkaian Peringatan Hari Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Nasional Tahun 2022.
"Semoga Tuhan Yang Maha Esa senantiasa memberi bimbingan dan lindungannya serta meridhoi upaya kita semua dalam mewujudkan masyarakat sehat yang mandiri dan berkeadilan," sebutnya.
Peringatan kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan bagian penting dari kesehatan tubuh sehingga menjadi salah satu penunjang kesejahteraan masyarakat.
Melalui Senyum Sehat Indonesia dengan menyelenggarakan kegiatan sikat gigi bersama anak sekolah dasar secara serentak bersama Menteri Kesehatan bekerjasama dengan Persatuan Dokter Gigi Indonesia (PDGI) serta menggandeng Persatuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut Indonesia (PTGM).
