Hal tersebut tersirat pada rapat pemantapan Festival Biduk Gedang Beselang Angkut Padi yang dipimpin Pj Bupati Merangin H Mukti, di lokasi acara Rumah Ny Asmiah Rumah Tuo Rantau Panjang, Selasa (23/7/24).
‘’Jadi Festival yang sangat ditunggu-tunggu masyarakat ini akan diawali dengan Senam Geopark, yang dimulai pukul 06.30 Wib sampai pukul 08.00 Wib di Gelanggang Bantaian Adat,’’ ujar Pj Bupati usai memimpin jalannya rapat pemantapan.
Selanjunya jelas Pj bupati, dilakukan Gotong Royong massal dan Geratik. Lalu ada kegiatan Tabur Benih Ikan dan penanaman pohon pelindung sebagai upaya melestarikan lingkungan.
Menariknya juga akan dilakukan pembukaan Bazaar oleh Ketua TP PKK Merangin Dr Hj Indriani Mayesti Mukti, dilanjutkan acara hiburan dan penampilan berbagai seni pertunjukan hingga sore hari.
Pada malam harinya Sabtu (27/7/24) sekitar pukul 19.00 Wib dilakukan acara penyambutan para tamu-tamu penting, diantaranya Dirjen Kebudayaan Kemendikbud Ristek RI, Gubernur Jambi H Al Haris dan para tokoh masyarakat Tabir dengan tarian Sekapur Sirih.
Selanjutnya pada pukul 19.30 Wib sampai pukul 20.00 Wib dilakukan jamuan malam malam di Rumah Tuo Rantau Panjang Tabir, diteruskan Beselang Giling Bumbu. Setelah istirahat sejenak dilakukan pembukaan Festival oleh Gubernur Jambi.
Pada acara pembukaan Festival Biduk Gedang Beselang Angkut Padi itu, akan ditampilkan tarian massal dilanjutkan dengan acara hiburan hingga malam hari. Pada Festival itu tamu laki-laki diwajibkan memakai sarung dan topi, perempuan pakai Baju Kurung.
