MERANGIN - Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Diskominfo) Merangin, setiap tahunnya terus berupaya bisa mengurangi jumlah desa-desa blank spot, sehingga kedepan semua desa bisa menikmati jaringan internet dan telekomunikasi selluler.
Dari sebanyak 65 desa blank sport di Kabupaten Merangin pada 2020, sekarang ini pada 2021 tinggal hanya sebanyak 53 desa lagi yang belum teraliri jaringan internet dan telekomunikasi seluler.
Hal tersebut dikatakan Bupati Merangin H Mashuri, melalui Asisten I Setda Merangin H Abd Gani pada pengarahan upacara kedisiplinan yang diikuti ribuan aparatur sipil negara di halaman depan Kantor Bupati Merangin, Senin (27/9/21).
‘’Jadi sudah ada penambahan sebanyak 12 menara telekomunikasi atau tower baru di Kabupaten Merangin dalam kurun waktu selama delapan bulan ini yang diusahakan Diskominfo Merangin,’’ ujar Asisten I Setda Merangin.
Pembangunan menara telekomunikasi atau tower baru itu lanjut H Abd Gani, baik yang diusulkan Diskominfo Merangin melalui operator selluler, maupun melalui Bhakti Kemenkominfo.
Selain itu menurut Kadis Kominfo Merangin M Arief, Diskominfo Merangin menjadi salah satu Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD), sebangai penyumbang Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) Kabupaten Merangin.
Meneriknya, setiap tahun justru OPD yang berkantor di Gedung Jam Gento Merangin tersebut, tidak pernah mendapatkan dana bagi hasil yang justru dikucurkan ke OPD lainnya.
 ‘’Jadi meskipun baru delapan bulan berjalan, untuk pencapaian penerimaan PAD Kabupaten Merangin dari sektor Telekomunikasi tahun ini, pencapaian penerimaannya sudah over target,’’ terang M Arief.
