Informasi yang dihimpun media ini menyebutkan, penyebab terjadinya musibah kebakaran itu, akibat kosleting listrik.
Kepala Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Batanghari, Nazhar, S.Pd melalui Makmun, S.Pd.I selaku Kasi Kedaruratan dan Logistik pada BPBD Batanghari, Selasa (3/12/2019) mengatakan, jumlah kebakaran rumah penduduk di kabupaten Batanghari tahun 2019 ada 37 unit, dengan kerugian mencapai Rp.1,5 milyar lebih.
“Penyebab kejadian rata-rata diduga akibat kosleting listrik dan ada juga yang diduga gas meledak dan lilin. Rumah yang terbakar ada yang semi permanen, permanen dan berbahan kayu,” kata Makmun.
Makmun menjelaskan, puluhan rumah yang terbakar itu terhitung sejak bulan Januari hingga akhir bulan November 2019.
“Kejadian kebakaran rumah ini terhitung sejak Januari hingga akhir bulan November 2019,” jelas Makmun.
Makmun mengaku, bahwa berdasarkan data yang ada, semua kepala keluarga yang menjadi korban kebakaran rumah sudah mendapatkan bantuan sosial dari pemerintah Batanghari. Diantaranya berupa sembako dan perlengkapan lainnya.
“Dari puluhan rumah yang terbakar itu, tidak ada satupun korban yang meninggal dunia,” tegas Makmun.
