Arung Jeram Merangin yang cukup menantang adrenaline ke semua penjuru dunia.
MERANGIN, BE -Mari promosikan keindahan Alam Bumi Geopark dan Arung Jeram Merangin yang cukup menantang adrenaline ke semua penjuru dunia, sehingga pada 2021 nanti Geopark Merangin sudah bisa menjadi Geopark Dunia.
Hal tersebut dikatakan Bupati Merangin Al Haris, ketika melakukan Parade Arung Jeram di lokasi Zona Inti Geopark Merangin Desa Air Batu Kecamatan Renah Pembarap, Sabtu (21/12).
Selain bupati, tampak ikut dalam perahu Parade Arung Jeram dalam rangka memeriahkan peringatan Hari Ulang Tahun Kabupaten Merangin ke-70 tersebut, Kajari Merangin Martha Parulina Berliana, SH. MH.
Tampak juga dalam perahu karet itu, Ketua DPRD Merangin H Herman Effendi, Plt Sekda Merangin H Hendri Maidalef, Dandim 0420/Sarko Letkol Inf Tomi Radya Diansyah Lubis S.A.P, M.Han dan sejumlah pejabat lainnya.
“Kita juga mengajak semua organsasi pecinta alam dan biro-biro perjalanan wisata untuk ‘menjual’ Arung Jeram Geopark Merangin ini sebagai produk pariwisata nasional. Keindahan Geopark Merangin ini sangat luar biasa,” terang Bupati.
Parade Arung Jeram HUT Merangin ke-70 tersebut, star di Desa Air Batu Kecamatan Renah Pembarap dan finish di kawasan Zona Geopark Merangin Teluk Wang Sakti.
Sebelum memasuki garis finish, sebanyak 12 perahu karet yang ditumpangin bupati dan pejabat penting Merangin tersebut, melewati berbagai rintangan jeram di sepanjang Sungai Merangin.
Ada sekitar dua jam perjalanan yang ditempuh peserta mengunakan perahu karet tersebut sebelum memasuki finish. Rombongan juga sempat singgah di titik-titik Geopark seperti di fosil kayu, fosil kerang, fosil pakis Geopark Merangin.
Menariknya setelah masuki garis finish, di Kawasan Teluk Wang Sakit digelar Festival Makan Merawang (makan di alam terbuka), bertema kurangi sampah pelastik.
Pada Festival Makam Merawang itu, disajikan berbagai menu khas Merangin, mulai dari sambal bance, tumis pakis, sambal macang, tempoyak dalam bambu dan berbagai menu Dusun Merangin lainnya.
Menariknya lagi, semua menu itu dihidangkan dengan menggunakan daun, karena bupati tidak membolehkan menggunakan bahan pelastik sesuai dengan tema yang diberikan.
Makan bersama di alam terbuka itu berlangsung meriah, bernuansa kekeluargaan dihubur alunan musik dari sejumlah lagu yang dibawakan apik oleh Bupati Merangin.
