Kegiatan Konfercab dengan tema 'Meneguhkan Tradisi Aswaja An Nahdliyah Menuju NU Mandiri untuk Kemaslahatan Ummat' tersebut, juga sekaligus akan menentukan siapa Ketua PC NU Merangin untuk periode 2020-2025.

Sementara itu, Rais Syuriah PC NU Merangin KH. Satar Shaleh dalam sambutannya menyampaikan, ucapan selamat atas terselenggaranya Konfercab NU Merangin. Dia berharap agar Konfercab berjalan dengan lancar.

Pada kesempatan itu, mantan Ketua MUI Kabupaten Merangin ini juga berpesan, agar warga NU kompak dalam segala hal. Saling bantu membantu, saling dukung dan bahu membahu untuk membesar organisaai NU kedepannya.

"Yang pertamo, orang NU harus kompak walaupun berlain jabatan namun kito harus kompak sebagai warga Nahdliyin. Saling bantu membantu," kata Satar Shaleh.

Pada kesempatan itu juga ia sampaikan jika NU mempunyai peran yang besar sejak zaman perjuangan kemerdekaan Indonesia hingga saat ini. Dengan demikian dia minta warga NU tetap setia menjaga NKRI.

Hadir dalam pembukaan Konfercab NU ke IX, Kepala Kantor Kementrian Agama Merangin, Marwan Hasan. PW NU Jambi, Rais Syuriah NU Merangin KH Satar Shaleh, Ketua PC NU Merangin Buya Hadrami, ketua GP Ansor Muhlisin, pengurus MWC NU dan organisasi badan otonom NU.

Sejauh ini belum terlihat kandidat ketua PC NU Merangin yang muncul. Hingga sore, proses Konfercab NU Merangin IX masih dalam agenda sidang-sidang.
