Penangkapan Kusnadi bermula jum'at 14 Februari 2020 sekitar pukul 08'30 wib kanit reskrim Polsek mestong Aipda Arjun mendapatkan informasi kalau ada pelaku yang di duga memiliki senjata api rakitan yang sedang berada di salah satu Warung Nasi km 34 dusun Tengah Desa sungai landai kecamatan mestong kabupaten Muaro Jambi.
Saat mengetahui bahwa yang bersangkutan berada di warung kanit reskrim dan anggota melakukan pengepungan, saat hendak di tangkap pelaku sempat melakukan perlawanan,namun sangat sigap pelaku dapat dilumpuhkan. Saat di geledah, di temukan senjata rakitan berjenis pistol dengan amunisi 4 butir masih aktif di dalam tas dan ditemukan juga pisau garpu yang terselip di pinggang tersangka.
"Barang bukti senjata api rakitan berjenis pistol,4 buah amunisi aktif,pisau garpu,tas,3 HP yang sudah di amankan," ujar Polres Muarojambi
Modus pelaku ini mempunyai senjata api rakitan ini cuman untuk menunjukkan ke warga dengan niat untuk menakut-nakuti warga.akibat ulahnya warga sekitar menjadi resah, wargapun melaporkan ke Polsek dari situ lah jajaran polsek mestong melakukan pengintaian setelah mengetahui keberadaan nya pelaku langsung di tangkap.
Dari hasil penyelidikan pelaku Kusnadi mendapatkan senjata api rakitan berjenis pistol dari temannya Suhardi yang di buang saat penangkapan oleh Bripka Eko Sudarsono di lapangan peris kecamatan Bajubang, kabupaten Batanghari 2019 yang lalu.
Sejak saat itu senjata api tersebut di Kuasain oleh Kusnadi. Saat di interogasi oleh penyidik, pelaku Kusnadi mengaku dan beralasan hanya menyimpan saja dan akan di kembalikan ke Suhardi jika bertemu. Saat di hubungi nomor telepon Suhardi tidak aktif lagi, hingga senjata tersebut disalah gunakannya, sehingga setiap ke Warung selalu di perlihatkan ke warga, sehingga warga menjadi resah dengan ulahnya tersebut.
Akibat perbuatannya pelaku Kusnadi dapat di ancam dengan Undang-Undang darurat nomor 12 tahun 1951pada 1 ayat 1 dengan ancaman hukuman penjara 20 tahun penjara atau seumur hidup.
