MoU tentang pembinaan kehidupan umat beragama secara sistematik, menyeluruh, integral dan integratif itu, ditandatangani Dandim 0420/Sarko Letkol Inf Tomi Radya Diansyah Lubis dengan Kepala Kemenag Merangin H Marwan Hasan.
‘’Jelasnya nanti kedua belah pihak akan saling  tukar menukar data dan informasi, yang berkaitan dengan tata kehidupan beragama di wilayah Kabupaten Merangin,’’ ujar Wabup pada acara yang berlangsung di Aula Kemenag Merangin itu.
Tak kalah penting terang wabup, pembinaan masyarakat dalam rangka mendeteksi dini dan cegah dini berkembangnya paham redikal. Diharapkan wabup, unsur Babinsa dan Penyuluh Agama mampu mendeteksi dini paham radikal itu.

Kepala Kantor Kementerian Agama Kabupaten Merangin, H. Marwan Hasan menerangkan, kerjasama tersebut tindak lanjut dari MoU Korem 042 Garuda Putih Jambi dengan Kementerian Agama Provinsi Jambi beberapa bulan lalu.
Tampak hadir pada acara penandatanganan MoU itu, para pejabat di jajaran Kodim 0420/Sarko, seluruh Danramil di wilayah kerja Kabupaten Merangin, sebanyak 15 orang Babinsa dari masing-masing Danramil di wilayah kerja Kabupaten Merangin.
Selain itu dari Kemenag Merangin, seluruhpejabat di jajaran Kemenag Merangin dan para kepala Kantor Urusan Agama (KUA)  kecamatan dalam wilayah kerja Kabupaten Merangin.
