MERANGIN - Pembangunan Kebun Raya Merangin (KRM), yang disepakati pada rapat 06 Maret 2020 berlokasi di Taman Arboretum Rio Alif  Dusun Mudo Bangko, terganjal belum adanya sertifikat kepemilikan lahan oleh Pemkab Merangin.
Hal tersebut diketahui pada rapat percepatan pembangunan KRM yang dipimpin Wabup Merangin, H. Mashuri, di Ruang Pola Kol H Moh Syukur Lantai 2 Kantor Bupati Merangin, Selasa (21/7).
Padahal kepemilikan sertifikat lahan itu sebagai syarat mutlak, menjadi pedoman penyusunan rencana induk (Master Plan) KRM. Pembangunan KRM merupakan realisasi kerjasama Pemkab Merangin dengan Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI).
‘’Kita juga baru tahu kalau Arboretum itu belum mempunyai sertifikat. Tapi tadi sudah langsung diurus, September 2020 nanti kepemilikan sertifikat itu akan diterbitkan Badan Pertanahan Nasional Merangin,’’ terang Wabup usai rapat.
Pembangunan KRM diatas lahan seluas 71 hektar tersebut jelas wabup, tetap akan mempertahankan pohon-pohon khas Merangin seperti Sungkai, sebagai kearifan lokal. KRM ini merupakan pengembangan Kebun Raya Bogor dibawah naungan LIPI.
‘’Nanti dampak pembangunan KRM ini, tidak hanya sekedar sebagai objek wisata, tetapi terpenting sebagai pusat penelitian dan pendidikan. KRM ini satu-satunya di Provinsi Jambi,’’ terang Wabup.
Rapat yang diikuti sejumlah pimpinan instansi terkait, dihadiri  Pj Sekda, H. Hendri Maidalef dan Asisten II Setda Merangin Mardansyah Saidi itu, diharapkan akan semakin mempercepat pembangunan KRM.
