Pamit cuti itu disampaikan calon  Gubernur Jambi 2020-2025, dihadapan Wabup Merangin H. Mashuri, Pj Sekda H Hendri Maidalef, para Lurah, Kades dan Ketua RT serta para tokoh masyarakat, pada acara Yasinan dan Doa Bersama, Kamis malam (18/9).
‘’Jadi terhitung tanggal, 26 Septermber 2020, saya sudah cuti untuk kampanye. Semoga Allah berikan yang terbaik untuk Jambi, untuk umat dan masyarakat. Saya tidak minta doa untuk menang tidak, tapi doakan saja yang terbaik buat Jambi,’’ ujar Bupati.
Pada acara yang 
berlangsung di Auditorium rumah dinas Bupati Merangin tersebut, Al Haris melalui acara Yasinan dan Doa Bersama yang digelar, memohon kepada Allah SWT agar Kabupaten Merangin benar-benar dibebas dari Covid-19.
‘’Tempo hari dari lima pasien Covid-19 Merangin, ada satu pasien yang menghawatirkan, karena pernapasannya cukup terganggu. Tapi Alhamdulillah sekarang bisa sembuh dan Merangin nol pasien Covid-19,’’ terang Bupati.
Diakui bupati, Merangin dikenal cepat dalam penyembuhan pasien Covid-19. Bupati minta masyarakat untuk bersama-sama memohon kepada Allah SWT, agar Merangin babas Covid-19. Jangan sampai ada warga yang meninggal dunia karena  Covid-19.
Sementara itu pasca cuti kampanye yang dilakukan Al Haris, untuk pelaksana tugas bupati dilaksanakan oleh Wabup Merangin H Mashuri. Al Haris menitipkan sepenuhnya Merangin kepada  Mashuri dan masyarakat Merangin secara keseluruhan.
‘’Semangat terus dan jaga Merangin harus tetap kondusif, aman dan nyaman. Saya tetap memantau, meski tidak lagi tinggal di rumah dinas. Jangan ada lagi masyarakat yang mengeluhkan pelayanan, apalagi melemahnya pelayanan tersebut,’’ pinta Bupati.
 Al Haris minta kepada Wabup  Mashuri, untuk mengurus masyarakat dengan sebaik mungkin. Koordinasi lintas Forkopinda harus terus dijalankan, sesuai dengan urusannya masing-masing.
