JAMBI – Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi Edi Purwanto menyayangkan kegiatan unjuk rasa Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia (PMII) Jambi berakhir ricuh dan dibubarkan paksa oleh aparat kepolisian. Ini terjadi karena massa PMII memaksa masuk ke dalam gedung DPRD, Jumat (09/10/2020).
Berdasarkan pantauan media ini, Edi bersama Rocky Chandra, wakil ketua DPRD dan beberapa anggota DRPD lainnya turun menemui para pengunjuk rasa beberapa saat setelah mereka melakukan doa bersama.
Selanjutnya Edi dan kawan-kawan disambut dengan orasi dan tuntutan dari orator aksi. Mereka meminta DPRD provinsi Jambi untuk melakukan penolakan terhadap undang-undang Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja bersama seluruh massa aksi dan Pejabat sementara (Pjs) Gubernur Jambi di Ruang Sidang Paripurna.
“Kami sudah temui, tapi adik-adik tidak butuh statement kita katanya, trus mereka minta hadirkan Pjs. Gubernur, tadi udah kita upayakan, saat menunggu (Pjs. Gubernur hadir,red) massa udah dorong-dorongan, kami balek kanan,” terang Edi.
Ketua PDI Perjuangan Provinsi Jambi ini menambahkan bahwa pihaknya tidak mengizinkan seluruh massa aksi masuk ke dalam gedung DPRD karena kondisinya tidak memungkinkan, baik dari sisi protokol kesehatan Covid-19 maupun alasan keamanan. Apalagi beberapa tahun lalu ruang rapat paripurna DPRD Provinsi Jambi pernah diterobos paksa oleh massa aksi yang mengakibatkan kerusakan pada perabotan dan peralatan elektronik yang ada dalam ruangan.
“Kalo mau masuk, perwakilan saja, 15-30 orang, itu bisa kita akomodir, tapi kan adek adek maunya menduduki ruang paripurna,” lanjut Edi.
Edi melanjutkan bahwa DPRD Provinsi Jambi terbuka untuk menerima dan memperjuangkan setiap aspirasi masyarakat provinsi Jambi selama sesuai aturan dan disampaikan dengan baik.
“Kemarin (8/10/2010), semua unjuk rasa kita terima dan kita teruskan, mulai dari pagi sampai isya, saya tengah malam baru ninggalin DPRD, asal mau komunikasi dan cari jalan tengah, kita layani, kita perjuangkan, tapi kalau udah ngotot dan pokoknya, itu jadi wilayah aparat keamanan,” pungkas Edi.
