Pada kesempatan itu Dandim 0420/Sarko mengatakan, kegiatan santunan bagi anak yatim dan piatu ini rutin dilaksanakan pada bulan Ramadhan, termasuk pada tahun ini, karena momen ini merupakan waktu yang tepat untuk berbagi bagi mereka yang membutuhkan, seperti puluhan anak yatim dan piatu yang diundang ini.

“Berbagi di bulan Ramadhan akan mendapatkan pahala yang lebih besar, apalagi dengan sedikit santunan ini para anak yatim dan piatu merasakan kebahagiaan bersama, karena mereka sangat membutuhkan uluran tangan dari orang lain yang lebih berada,” ulasnya.

Menurut Tomi momen berbagi dengan anak yatim merupakan salah satu upaya mendekatkan TNI dengan masyarakat, meningkatkan hubungan silaturahmi, dan besaran bingkisan dan santunan yang diberikan memang tidak seberapa nilainya, namun nilai keikhlasan untuk berbagi lah yang paling utama.

Anak yatim dan piatu yang dibantu ini berasal dari wilayah kerja Kodim 0420/Sarko bagi mereka yang sudah terdata namun berhalangan hadir, Dandim tetap memberikan dengan cara mengirimnya langsung kepada yang bersangkutan. 

"Semoga apa yang telah diberikan ini dapat bermanfaat dan digunakan dengan baik oleh mereka, dan ditargetkan kedepan kegiatan santunan ini dapat terus diadakan, dan tidak dalam momen bulan Ramadhan saja,” tandasnya.
