Penyambutan H Al Haris ‘pulang kampung’ itu, dimeriahkan dengan Tarian Sikapur Sirih. ‘’Saya sendiri merasakan seperti mimpi, pak Haris dan ibu menjadi tamu di rumahnya sendiri,’’ujar Pj Bupati.
Begitu Tarian Sikapur Sirih berakhir, gubernur dan Istri langsung menyalami para kepala Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD), yang telah berdiri berjejer dari pelataran rumah dinas hingga pintu masuk rumah.
Saat menyalami kepala OPD itulah, air mata Hj Hesty Haris mengucur. Begitu juga dengan H Al Haris, saat langkahnya memasuki teras rumah dinas bupati, langsung matanya meneteskan air.
Entah apa yang dirasakan oleh mantan bupati Merangin dua periode dan istri tersebut, sehingga menangis pada acara penyambutan yang berlangsung penuh haru, di rumah yang telah sekitar tujuh tahun ditempatinya itu.
Usai ngobrol-ngobrol sejenak dengan para kepala OPD, Gubernur kemudian masuk ke kamarnya untuk Sholat Magrib. Sekitar pukul 19.30 WIB, Gubernur dan istri mengikuti acara serah terima memori Jabatan di auditorium rumah dinas bupati.
