MUARABULIAN – Ketinggian debit air sungai Batanghari terus bertambah. Pantauan Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) kabupaten Batanghari berdasarkan alat pengukur ketinggian air (APKA) pada Senin 27 Januari 2020 sekira pukul 07.00 Wib, ketinggian air sungai Batanghari mencapai angka 276 Cm. Ini meningkat dari pantauan sebelumnya, yang hanya 269 Cm.
Dengan angka tersebut, kini BPBD Batanghari menetapkan daerah Batanghari berstatus siaga darurat bencana banjir atau siaga III.
Kepala BPBD Batanghari, Nazhar melalui Sekretaris BPBD Batanghari, Syamral Lubis kepada media ini mengaku, status daerah siaga darurat bencana banjir, putting beliung dan bencana longsor bantaran sungai sepanjang pemukiman. Untuk itu, dihimbau kepada masyarakat Batanghari untuk mewaspadai cuacaekstrim dan ancaman bencana yang terjadi disekitar kita,” imbau Samral kepada media ini Senin (27/1/2020).
Samral berujar, saat ini debit sungai Batanghari terus mengalami peningkatan. BPBD kabupaten Batanghari sudah menetapkan status siaga darurat banjir.
“Berdasarkan pemantauan APKA Muarabulian, ketinggian air sudah mencapai 276 Cm, artinya sudah masuk status Siaga III/Waspada,” kata Samral.
Diakui Samral, peningkatan APKA terus di pantau petugas setiap pagi dan sore. Kalau pun belum sampai 300 cm, tapi kenaikan 10 cm setiap hari, kita harus waspada. Itu kita curigai, karena seluas itu sungai Batanghari, tapi kenaikan 10 cm. Berarti air menderu dari atas dan dari hulu,” ujarnya.
Ia berujar petugas BPBD paling utama memantau tebing di sepanjang pemukiman, bukan fokus ketinggian air. Karena di beberapa kecamatan, sangat dekat bibir sungai Batanghari dengan pemukiman.
“Itu yang kita waspadai, takut longsor. Hampir seluruh kecamatan sebanyak 86 desa berada di bantaran sungai Batanghari. Dari 86 desa ini, ada empat desa langganan banjir bandang. Di antaranya, desa Bukit Harapan, kecamatan Mersam, Batin XXIV satu desa, kecamatan Bajubang satu desa dan kecamatan Pemayung satu desa.
