Yusuf yang merupakan seorang petani dan seorang ayah dari tiga orang anak ini adalah warga RT 01 Desa rantau panjang, kecamatan Kumpeh kabupaten Muaro Jambi, menuturkan7 kejadian kebakaran yang menghanguskan rumah beserta isinya itu di duga akibat adanya arus pendek listrik.
"Kebakaran itu terjadi waktu sayo lagi pergi potong rambut, mungkin akibat konsleting kabel listrik" tuturnya.
Lebih lanjut Yusuf menyebut, seluruh bangunan rumah beserta seluruh isinya hangus terbakar dan tidak sempat di selamatkan, bahkan hanya mesihkan pakaian yang ia kenakan saja.
"Semanyo habis terbakar. Rumah sayo tinggal tiang bae, itupun tiang nyo jugo hangus, kalau pakaian cuma tinggal yang ado di badan lah, pakaian yang di jemuran pun ikut disambar api," sebutnya.
Yusuf berharap kepada pemerintah kabupaten Muaro Jambi untuk dapat membantu meringankan beban keluarga nya, karena saat ini Yusuf dan keluarganya sudah tidak memiliki tempat tinggal.
"Saya sangat berharap sekali kepada pemerintah daerah kabupaten Muaro Jambi untuk dapat memberikan bantuan kepada saya. Kalau bisa dibantu bedah rumah, karena saya sudah tidak tau lagi mau tinggal di mana," imbuhnya.
