JAMBI - Penjabat Sementara (Pjs) Gubernur Jambi, Ir. Restuardy (Ardy) Daud,M.Sc mengharapkan agar seluruh rangkaian tahapan Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) Serentak Tahun 2020 bisa dilaksanakan dengan lancar dan aman dari Covid-19. Harapan itu disampaikannya saat menerima audiensi Ketua KPU Provinsi Jambi, H. M. Subhan berserta komisioner KPU Provinsi Jambi, di Ruang Kerja Gubernur, Kantor Gubernur Jambi, Senin (02/11/2020).
Ardy Daud didampingi Asisten I Bidang Pemerintahan dan Kesejahteraan Rakyat Apani Saharudin, Kepala Biro Pemerintahan dan Otonomi Daerah Rahmad Hidayat, Kepala Kesbangpol yang diwakil Kabid Muhamad Nur Agus.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, komisioner KPU Provinsi Jambi membahas progres tahapan Pemilhan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) serentak tahun 2020 serta kesiapan daerah. Di Provinsi Jambi, akan diselenggarakan Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Jambi, Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Batanghari, Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Bungo, Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat, Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Tanjung Jabung Timur, serta Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota Sungai Penuh.
Ardy Daud mengarahkan agar seluruh persiapan Pilkada segera diselesaikan. Ia juga menekankan pentingnya memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat terkait pemilihan.
Ardy Daud mengharapkan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat pada Pilkada mendatang dapat meningkat dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya.
Selanjutnya, Ardy Daud berharap agar penyelenggaraan Pilkada serentak yang dilaksanakan ditengah situasi pandemi tetap berjalan secara demokratis, langsung, umum bebas dan rahasia (luber), jujur dan adil (jurdil), dan paling penting tetap aman dari Covid-19.
”Sehingga, ada dua hal yang menjadi penekanan utama bahwa Pilkada 2020 ini harus semakin berkualitas dan juga aman dari Covid-19. Jadi, aspek kesehatan, aspek keselamatan petugas, peserta dan juga tentu saja pemilih harus menjadi prioritas,” tutur Ardy Daud.
