JAMBI - Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi Edi Purwanto menerima Penghargaan Green Leadership "Nirwasita Tantra 2020" kategori DPRD Provinsi dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (LHK), Selasa (15/6/2021).
Menteri LHK, Siti Nurbaya dalam sambutannya mengatakan bawah Pemerintah RI menyerahkan Penghargaan Green Leadership "Nirwasita Tantra” 2020 kepada para pemimpin pemerintahan daerah setelah melalui proses yang cukup panjang.
Menurutnya penghargaan yang diberikan kepada kepala daerah dan pimpinan DPRD tingkat provinsi, kabupaten/kota ini adalah bentuk apresiasi dari pemerintah RI kepada pimpinan daerah atas aktualisasi kepemimpinan yang berorientasi green dan deep green dalam memimpin pemerintahan daerah.
“Diantaranya dalam merumuskan, menetapkan dan implementasi kebijakan yang menganut prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan dalam upaya menjaga, melindungi dan memperbaiki kualitas lingkungan hidup di daerah masing-masing,” jelas Siti Nurbaya.
Sementara Edi Purwanto, usai mengikuti penyerahan penghargaan secara daring di gedung DPRD provinsi Jambi menyampaikan bahwa DPRD provinsi Jambi mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Menteri LHK atas penghargaan yang telah diberikan, walaupun pihaknya merasa masih belum optimal dalam melakukan langkah-langkah menjaga alam dan lingkungan.
“Maka kami harapkan ini jadi motivasi bagi kami DPRD dan Eksekutif untuk bersama-sama mencari formulasi apa yang harus kita lakukan untuk menjaga, melindungi dan melestarikan alam kita, kami ingin meninggalkan legacy yang baik,” papar ketua DPD PDI Perjuangan Provinsi Jambi ini.
Edi menambahkan bahwa hutan Jambi sudah banyak yang gundul, sungai Batanghari sudah dangkal dan tercemar karena Pertambangan Emas Tanpa Izin (PETI), termasuk permasalah illegal drilling, karhutla dan permasalahan lingkungan lainnya harus dicarikan jalan keluarnya.
Pada kesempatan yang sama Feri Irawan, aktifis lingkungan dari Perkumpulan Hijau mengapresiasi kepedulian DPRD Provinsi Jambi terhadap berbagai permasalahan lingkungan. Namun Ia berharap hendaknya peraturan yang ditelurkan oleh DPRD juga memperhatikan kearifan lokal. Ia mencontohkan Perda Karhutla yang melarang masyarakat membakar lahan sama sekali, walaupun itu dalam jumlah kecil, padahal itu merupakan kearifan lokal.
“Kalau memang masyarakat tidak boleh membakar, pemerintah harus memfasilitasi kebutuhan masyarakat untuk pengelolaan lahan tanpa bakar, kalau tidak, masyarakat akan kesulitan untuk berkebun,” jelas Feri.
Kegiatan penganugerahan penghargaan yang digelar secara tatap muka di Jakarta dan juga virtual (daring) ini merupakan salah satu mata acara dalam rangkaian peringatan Hari Lingkungan Hidup 5 Juni 2021 yang mengambil tema Restorasi Ekosistem.
DPRD Provinsi Jambi memperoleh penghargaan ini bersama DPRD Provinsi Aceh dan Sumatera Barat. (*)
