JAMBI- Kerusakan jalan akibat angkutan barang kelebihan tonase, terutama angkutan baru bara, menjadi salah satu perhatian Komisi III DPRD Provinsi Jambi dalam kunjungannya ke Kabupaten Merangin.
"Jalan yang seharusnya tahan lima tahun jadi tiga tahun, yang harusnya tahan tiga tahun jadi dua tahun," kata pimpinan rombingan Komisi III DPRD Provinsi Jambi H A Fauzi MT dalam dialog bersama Bupati Merangin di Bangko, Senin.
Fauzi megatakan perlu diatur penggunaan jalan itu dengan rancangan paraturan daerah (Ranperda), tentang penyelenggaraan perhubungan. Ranperda ini yang akan menyelamatkan jalan tersebut.
Pada kesempatan itu Bupati Merangin H Al Haris bersama jajarannya menjadi tuan rumah (Kunker) Komisi III DPRD Provinsi Jambi di Kantor Bupati Merangin.
Pada kunker tersebut, H A Fauzi MT menitik beratkan pembicaraan pada dampak kerusakan jalan akibat angkutan barang, terutama angkutan batubara.
"Termasuk di dalamnya dampak lain dari angkutan itu, keselamatan lalulintas dan dampak lain yang timbul akibat angkutan barat tersebut, karena hal ini cukup meresahkan para pengguna jalan," terang anggota dewan asal Merangin ini.
Bupati Merangin H Al Haris mengatakan, masih banyak hal yang perlu dibenahi di Provinsi Jambi, termasuk masalah angkutan barang dan dampak yang ditimbulkannya.
"Dari angkutan barang itu terjadi gangguan arus lalulintas, asap dan debu dari knalpot truk-truk itu cukup mengganggu kesehatan warga. Untuk itu perlu dicari jalan keluarnya dengan diterbitkannya Perda penyelenggaran perhubungan," ujar Bupati.
Selain itu bupati berinisiatif atas dibangunnya jalur kereta api untuk angkutan barang itu, sehingga tidak mengganggu arus lalulintas yang ada.
Rel kereta api itu dari Sawalunto Sumbar ke Bungo lalu ke Merangin dan Sarolangun lanjut ke Ujung Jabung.
"Kalau pembiayaan kereta api itu ke Pemerintah Pusat, tapi kalau kita buat jalan khusus angkutan barang tentu terbebani ke APBD. Kita juga bisa manfaatkan arus sungai, sungai kita bagus kok, Sungai Batanghari kita panjang," terang Bupati.(*)
