Pada upacara yang diikuti barisan dari pelajar, pramuka, mahasiswa, Korpri, Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD), Damkar, Brimob, TNI dan Polri itu, tampil sebagai pembina upacara Bupati Merangin H Mashuri.
Pada pengarahannya di depan ratusan peserta upacara, para unsur Forkopimda dan para pejabat yang hadir,  bupati membacakan sambutan Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika Republik Indonesia Johnny G Plate.
Dikatakan bupati, pada tahun ini, ‘Ayo Bangkit Bersama’ menjadi tema peringatan Hari Kebangkitan Nasional sebagai bentuk seruan agar senua bisa bangkit bersama dari pandemi COVID-19, yang sudah melanda dua tahun terakhir.
‘’Peringatan Hari Kebangkitan Nasional hendaknya tidak hanya kita maknai sebagai seremonial saja. Guna memahami esensi sejarah Kebangkitan Nasional, mari sejenak kita telaah sisi historis di balik peringatan Hari Kebangkitan Nasional ini,’’ujar Bupati.
Pada tanggal 20 Mei 1948 jelas bupati, Presiden Soekarno menetapkan hari lahirnya perkumpulan Boedi Oetomo sebagai Hari Bangkitnya Nasionalisme Indonesia. Di masa itu, terdapat ancaman perpecahan antargolongan dan ideologi.
‘’Semangat persatuan yang digagas oleh Boedi Oetomo diharapkan menjadi spirit dalam menghimpun kekuatan dan mencegah perpecahan bangsa,’’tegas Bupati yang hari itu berbusana jas lengkap.
Serangkaian peringatan kebangkitan nasional ke-114 di Kabupaten Merangin itu diakhiri dengan upacara ziarah dan tabur bunga di Taman Makam Pahlawan Patriot Bhakti.
