JAMBI - Ketua Komisi II DPRD Ppovinsi Jambi M. Juber meminta Dinas TPHP segera menindaklanjuti pencegahan kasus PMK di Jambi.
“Jangan dibiarkan penyakit ini ada (menyebar), jika penyakit tak dituntaskan bisa-bisa kita yang selesai,” ungkapnya.
“Harus diantisipasi, pencegahan lebih baik daripada mengobati. Penting Dinas terkait melakukan sosialiasi yang yang jelas ke masyarakat atau peternak,” pungkasnya.
Untuk diketahui, Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura dan Peternakan (TPHP) Provinsi Jambi sudah mendirikan posko pengendalian Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) untuk ternak sapi di Provinsi Jambi. Sejauh ini pihak dinas baru merekap satu laporan suspek (dugaan) PMK yang masuk.
Kepala Bidang Peternakan Dinas TPHP Rusli mengatakan sejauh ini terdapat 1 laporan yang masuk. “Yang masuk ada satu suspek atau indikasi, gejalanya lepuh mulut. Dan saat ini sedang diteliti di Bidang Kesehatan Hewan, sedang kita tunggu hasilnya,” ujarnya (17/5).
Ia menyatakan kasus ini berasal dari satu titik Sungai Bahar, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Sementara untuk keterangan lebih lanjut ia belum bisa menerangkan.
Adapun untuk upaya antisipasi masuknya virus PMK di Jambi, kata Rusli, pintu masuk dan pintu keluar sapi daerah yang sudah positif PMK telah ditutup. Seperti di Sijunjung Sumatera Barat, dan Lubuk Linggau di Sumatera Selatan.
”Untuk daerah yang sudah positif otomatis tak masuk lagi sapi dari sana,” katanya.
Ia menambahkan untuk sapi di Jambi yang terkena virus PMK akan ditangani sesuai prosedur Kesehatan. Untuk penyakit ini tak menular ke manusia, namun jika sudah ada wabah nantinya akan ada aturan lebih lanjut di Provinsi Jambi.
