Hal tersebut sebagaimana disampaikan Ketua TP PKK Provinsi Jambi Hj Hesti Haris didampingi Ketua TP PKK Merangin Hj Nurhaida Mashuri, pada rapat persiapan acara, di ruang tengah rumah dinas bupati Merangin, Senin malam (06/5/22).
‘’Saya punya beban moral pada event ini, apalagi Jangkat itu kampung halaman saya. Untuk itu, mari bersama-sama kita sukseskan Festival Jangkat tersebut, guna mengangkat nama Kabupaten Merangin,’’ujar Hj Hesti Haris.
Pada rapat yang diikuti Sekda Merangin Fajarman, para kepala Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) terkait, rombongan TP PKK Provinsi Jambi dan TP PKK  Merangin itu, Hj Hesti Haris menegaskan, akan ada sederetan kegiatan di festival itu.
Berbagai jenis masakan khas Jangkat akan disajikan, seperti sayur rebus dalam bambu, punai penyet/geprek, gulai cangkuk, sambal tausak, lempai, nasibus dan berbagai aneka masakan khas Jangkat lainnya.
‘’Semua masakan itu nanti akan dinilai dari berbagai sisi oleh Tim. Baik  itu kandungan gizinya maupun penampilannya, karena akan disajikan dengan piring dan mangkok tradisional terbuat dari aneka ukuran bambu,’’terang Hj Hesti Haris.
Masakan khas dari desa-desa di kawasan Jangkat itu jelas  Ketua TP PKK Provinsi Jambi ini, sangat menarik dan tentunya tidak dikenali masyarakat luar. Disamping unik, tentu akan menambah kekayaan masakan khas Nusantara.
Selain itu pada Festival Jangkat lanjut Hj Hesti Haris, juga akan dilakukan acara akbar Bakar Jaudah massal, yang akan dilakukan sekitar 600 orang warga yang berada di kawasan Jangkat dan sekitarnya.
Bakar Jaudah yang akan digelar di lapangan bola Jangkat itu, sekaligus akan melirik rekor Muri. Tidak hanya itu, Festival Jangkat juga akan menampilkan berbagai seni pertunjukan, seperti Tari Kadam, Silek Kadam dan berbagai kesenian lainnya.
Sementara itu Sekda Merangin Fajarman, minta seluruh lapisan masyarakat Provinsi Jambi, khususnya Kabupaten Merangin turut bersama-sama menyukseskan acara akbar tersebut.
‘’Festival Jangkat ini akan dihadiri tamu dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI dan ratusan undangan penting lainnya. Mari kita layani tamu kita dengan baik, senyum dan penuh keramah-tamahan yang menjadi adat kita,’’tandas Sekda.
