JAMBI – Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi, Edi Purwanto meninjau Pabrik Aspal Karet di Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin (Muba), Sumatera Selatan, Kamis (12/11/2020). Menurut Edi Pabrik Aspal Karet ini dapat menjawab permasalahan petani karet Jambi selama ini terkait rendahnya harga jual.
“Sejauh ini, pemerintah kan belum punya solusi mengatasi rendahnya harga jual karet petani, pemerintah Jambi ke depan bisa mengadopsi teknologi aspal karet ini, insya Allah Jambi juga bisa,” papar Edi.
Edi menjelaskan, dengan adanya Pabrik Aspal Karet di Muba, harga jual karet petani menjadi naik. Ini tentu dapat berdampak pada peningkatan kesejahteraan petani. Selain itu permintaan karet juga bisa stabil, karena perbaikan dan perawatan infrastruktur, khususnya jalan termasuk program kegiatan rutin setiap pemerintah kabupaten/kota di Indonesia.
“Infonya memang harga aspal karet ini lebih mahal, tapi kualitasnya lebih baik dibanding aspal biasa, jadi insya Allah tingkat permintaannya baik,” ujar Edi.
Selanjutnya Ketua DPD PDI Perjuangan Provinsi Jambi ini menambahkan bahwa perlu peningkatan kualitas karet petani Jambi agar dapat menjadi bahan baku aspal karet. Karena yang digunakan sebagai bahan baku adalah getah cair, bukan bokar.
“Saya yakin, petani kita mau meningkatkan kualitas getahnya, selama harga jualnya baik dan ada garansi dari pemerintah bahwa karet petani akan dibeli,” pungkas Edi. (*)
